After leaving school and studying fashion design Nicki Black joined a PR firm. She hated it. A friendly stylist took her under her wing and she navigated her way into the world of fashion shoots.

More than two decades on, Nicki still enjoys her career as a fashion and creative director and she specialises in menswear. She has worked on campaigns for big-name brands such as Adidas, Under Armour and Next as well as in-house for glossy magazines.

The days can be long, hectic and tiring, but the excitement and fun of her career choice has never waned.

The quiet days of lockdown gave Nicki time to explore another interest – sustainability. After completing MOOC modules in sustainable fashion management with Future Learn she decided to study for a full Masters. This year (2024) she completed it, after spending three years juggling assignments with long working hours and family commitments.
