Climate comedian, podcaster

▶ Listen to this episode

What's so funny about climate change, you might think if you spot comedian Stuart Goldsmith's job title.

The answer is, of course, nothing, but after a long and successful career as an award-winning performer and stand-up comedian Stuart found himself only wanting to talk about climate change to his audiences.

So how does that pan out when you need to be paid? And who is in the audience when Stuart is delivering his message? How do you even start a career like Stuart's? And if you're young, how do you sell the idea of being a performer past your parents, who might worry about when you're going to get a 'proper' job?

Stuart answers all these questions and more, including how and why he started targeting corporate gigs to get paid and deliver his climate message to the bosses. Plus he explains why he started his podcast interviewing comedians, what he gets out of it and how it helps him in his work.

He talks candidly about having ADHD, how to manage your exit from a job you dislike and which are the best jobs to have as a back-up to comedy.
